I've been called a Jesus Freak and a Bible Banger and for the first time, a "passive-aggressive Christian."
I've laughed. I've mocked myself. I've made light of it.
But, no more.
For those of you who are confused, none of these terms are complimentary. None of these terms are funny. All of these terms are derogatory. All of these terms mock and ridicule people. None of these terms serve a purpose beyond insult.
I don't know what a Jesus Freak or a Bible Banger is exactly. I've certainly wavered in my own opinion of myself--and in moments of low-confidence, I've even worried in writing that someone might call me a Bible Banger.
But, no more. I am neither and I don't care what you think, anymore.
And as for the passive-aggressive Christian comment, which, strangely occurred twice today, I'd like everyone to know that Christians come in all shapes, sizes and personalities. We are not made from some specific mold like a Barbie doll. We are human beings who believe that Christ is our Savior.
Some of us are liars. Some of us are saints. Some of us even sleep in on Sundays, when we know we should be in church. Some of us shout our faith from rooftops. Some of us pray quietly. Some of us remain close to Christ our whole lives and some of us wander away. Some of us yell at our children. Some of us are not always the best friend we can be. Some of us wage very vocal defenses against our enemies. Some of us love our enemies like friends. And some of us are passive-aggressive.
And me, I am Christian. I am all of above sometimes. I am entirely something else other times. You can call me what you want, but there is only one name I will answer to.

Love you.
