Meet Trish

Hi, I'm Trish! I am a nationally published creative non-fiction writer, who loves translating science into everyday language.

If you've found me here, on Yoke, you know I've written a blog post everyday, without stopping (but with typos) since January 1, 2021. I have no intention of stopping (or copy editing). Writing is a practice and the more I write, the better I get.

When I am not writing about my day-to-day chaos in Yoke, I am writing about childhood cancer research, medical science, baby food, books, faith, beer and motherhood. Sometimes I am also planning email marketing strategies for clients or writing speeches for non-profit leaders or drafting a press release.

In real life, I am a wife to my high school sweetheart and mom to three children, who used to be babies, but are now big kids. My kids play a lot of sports and perform on a lot of stages. Our family is dedicated to raising money for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, a national charity dedicated to funding childhood cancer research. Our oldest big kid, Lily, survived a brain tumor called ependymoma when she was just 14 months old. She's pretty amazing--as are other two children, who fight along side Lily everyday in their beautiful, inspiring ways.

I am graduate of Temple University (Go Owls!). I am also a student in the Master of Arts in Science Writing at Johns Hopkins University (Go Jays!). Oh and I love birds (obviously).

I am always looking for work. Need a writer? Well, it just so happens I am one. Check out my professional profile on LinkedIn or drop me an email: trishcarringtonadkins@gmail.com

Full disclosure: my photo is from 2012 when my hair was it's natural color. It's now an entirely different color and I have five times as many books.
